FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About the SENT Campaign

WHAT ARE YOU ASKING OF ME?

First and foremost, we are asking you to pray and look for God's leading. Prepare your heart to hear God and then listen to what he says about your financial commitment to our vision. Talk with your spouse, family, and trusted friends about what this commitment will mean for you. We can't do it without you!

HOW SHOULD I BREAK UP MY GIVING?

Keep giving what you currently give and be faithful with that, but do consider the possibility of increasing your giving. This will help us to stay on course with our operating expenses and be able to contribute to the campaign! You can use the One-Year Commitment Chart as a starting point for your increased giving. Remember, you can set up automatic giving online and give to multiple funds at Valley Church by clicking here!

If you intend to give by check, you can memo your check "Sent Campaign." If you're going to give cash, please indicate on the giving envelope that your money is meant for the SENT Campaign.

HOW CAN I HELP RAISE MONEY FOR THIS VISION BEYOND MY OWN COMMITMENT?

We love to see our Valley families, kids, students, and groups getting creative! Aside from regular giving, we encourage you to explore ways to give towards this vision. Here's some initiatives to consider. What ideas do you have?

  • Have a garage sale and give the proceeds to SENT
  • Host a bake sale or a lemonade stand and giving the proceeds to SENT
  • Do a can drive and give the proceeds to SENT
  • Write a friends and family letter or email.
  • Reduce your non-necessity funds, like the money you spend on fast food, to-go coffee, etc. and give your savings to SENT

WHAT IS THE TOTAL PROJECTED BUILDING COST AND WHEN WILL WE BUILD?

While we can't fully predict the construction market in the future, we expect the building cost to be about $1,600,000 with some additional costs for furnishings, architectural costs, etc. Once we have half of the budget saved up, we will qualify for a potential grant opportunity with the Lasko Foundation that will help us to build without accumulating debt. Alternatively, we may decide to build and take on the remaining cost as a mortgage loan. We hope to reduce the cost as much as possible through the multiplication of resources and donations that come with the continued growth of our church family.

WHAT OTHER SOURCES OF FUNDNG IS VALLEY LOOKING INTO?

Along with our campaigning efforts, we are meeting with potential investors and searching for grant opportunities. Specifically, we plat to apply for a grant through the Lasko Foundation once we qualify. (We first have to raise half the budget before we apply.) We know and believe that God is going to see this project through to the end. With our continued efforts and your generous help, we know that this vision will soon become a reality! If you or someone you know might consider being an angel investor by coming alongside us with a major gift, don't hesitate to reach out to us!
