Valley Church is sending a team of college students and young 20-somethings from March 4-11 to help assist Volunteer East Tennessee in the relief efforts of the November 28 fires that destroyed over 30,000 acres of National Forest, killed 14, and displaced thousands. The work that we will be doing will be determined in the days and weeks before our arrival and we will be serving in any way needed as the needs are changing every week. Our team will be staying at Sevierville First UMC where there will be nice accommodations, showers on site, and times of worship, reflection, shenanigans, and connections will be made.
The total cost of the trip will be $150 per person, including the initial deposit of $50. It is expected that each participant will do personal fundraising through the collection of support of family, friends, and their home church family; participants should not pay for the bulk of this trip sum out of pocket.
Registration forms must be turned in no later than February 1 to the Valley Church office or email to Jenna Schook at email@example.com. Download here. Spring_Break_Trip_2017_Commitment_Form.pdf
